The Brave and the Bold

Original Airdate: March 10, 2002

Short Summary:

The Brave and the Bold was first used to describe the team-up of Batman and another hero. Since then it has often refrenced the teaming of Green Lantern and the Flash. The phrase was generally used to describe Hal Jordan and Barry Allen, but this episode gives us a chance to see if Jon and Wally live up to their predecessors.

Flash starts the day off doing what he does best, eating and impressing girls. Soon a runaway truck snaps Flash into action, and he?s soon pulling the drivers out of danger. Green Lantern arrives to help out, and they discover that the drivers were stealing nuclear canisters, yet have no recollection of what they did.

In an even stranger event, GL and Flash encounter a runaway gorilla who knows how to drive a car and talk. Flash tries to chase after the gorilla, but a scientist zaps him with a mind control ray. After coming to, Flash discovers that someone used him to steal back the plutonium. GL and Flash try to investigate the gorilla they encountered earlier. He talks, and explains that he comes from Gorilla City, a place that is hidden from human civilization by a gigantic force field. His name is Solvar, and he?s trying to track down an evil gorilla super genius, Grodd. Solvar has headbands that can protect against Grodd?s mind control but Flash leaps into action without taking one.

Jon and Solvar arrive in time to stop Grodd, but Grodd uses Flash to provide a distraction and get away. Grodd activates a device and seemingly removes Central City from the face of the earth?

"Having fun Mojo?"

"Get your stinking paws off me you stinking human!"

"If he were really guilty do you think you could have held him here with a pair of handcuffs?"

"I'm supposed to believe this?"

"Hey we both have a martian's phone number on our speed dial, I think I deserve the benefit of the dobut"
