Justice League Figures Wave 2 Availability
Wave 2 of the Justice League includes Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and ?black? variants of Batman and Superman. Batman comes with an all black costume, with a silver logo. And Superman comes with a black/gray uniform instead of blue. Unfortunately, cases come packed with 1 or 2 Wonder Womans and 1 Martian Manhunter. The rest of the case is filled with Batman, Superman and their variants. Some newer cases have Flash and Green Lantern added into the case too. Regardless, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman are easily the hardest Justice League figures to get. They retail for $6.99, but expect to pay up to $15 apiece on the secondary market if you can?t find them at retail.
I didn't bother to pick up the two variants. Unless you're a diehard completist I would recommend you avoid the two variants as well. Superman and Batman will be re-released a number of times, in two packs or deluxe versions. There's no reason to pick up a weird variant now, when you can pick up an extra Superman with Luthor, or Batman with Grundy.
Packaging
The packaging is relatively the same as the first wave. Some figures have the newer blue label versus the old red ones. There isn?t really any big difference, except the blue one has the name of the character in multiple languages.
Figures
Wonder Woman is on model, she might be a little bit too short. In the cartoon she?s about the same height as everyone else, but it probably varies on the show too. The articulation on Wonder Woman is poor though. She has the same 5 joints as everyone else, but her head can?t move due to her hair. Her legs are connected with a V-Crotch so that when you move her legs out, they go outward making those two joints worthless. Essentially the figure has two points of articulation, but aside from that she?s perfect.
The Martian Manhunter?s sculpt is probably the best of all of the figures. His complicated cape is sculpted with folds and his collar is perfect. He does tower a bit over all the other figures, but being the resident shape-shifter on the team, there?s no reason he shouldn?t tower of them. It is kind of annoying that Flash just barely makes it over J?onn?s shoulder. One glaring problem with the Manhunter, is that his shade of green is too dark. He?s usually a much lighter green on the show. It would take a simple repaint to fix him, but it?s not a so annoying that you can?t overlook it.
Conclusion
Overall these are excellent figures. If you see them, I?d buy them cause you probably won?t see them again. I?d pay the $6.99 of retail, but I really don?t think they?re worth anymore than that. Unfortunately, you probably won?t find them at retail.
