Warworld

Origin: In Justice League, Mongul's origin isn't revealed, but his comics origins aren't too complex. One of the universe's most dangerous despots, Mongul conquered War World and held his gladitorial contests for his own amusement. In the comic's he's gone on to become a major Superman Villian, causing the destruction of coast city, and tormenting the man of steel when he can.

In the cartoon, Mongul is alreayd the ruler of War World, and uses his iron grip and terror to force competitors to fight in his contests. Eventually he is beaten by both Superman and Draaga.

Comments: Although I was pleased with Mongul's apperance in War World, I was severely dissapointed with his strength, and all around "badassness" (is that a word?). Mongul should be able to hold his own against the Man of Steel, and in the cartoon they present him as sort of a puny Darkseid. I'd like to see him return to claim vengence on Superman, and destroy him both mentally and physically until the league comes and saves him.
